Digital Defenders United Board of Advisor

Ludmila Golovine : Trauma-Informed Interpreter, Translator, & Advocate

Ludmila Golovine is a global leader in language access, trauma-informed interpreting, and cross-cultural communication. As the founder and CEO of MasterWord, Ludmila built one of the world’s top 50 language solutions companies—serving clients in over 400 languages across sectors including healthcare, government, law enforcement, and human rights. She is internationally known for advancing trauma-informed practices in high-risk settings, including human trafficking response, emergency services, and survivor-centered care.

Fluent in Russian, French, and English, Ludmila’s unique background as a translator, interpreter, and entrepreneur positions her at the intersection of business innovation, cultural sensitivity, and ethical advocacy. She has designed and implemented training programs on trauma-informed interpretation, cultural humility, and vicarious trauma awareness, working with institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Jung Center, and U.S. federal agencies. She also mentors emerging leaders through her work with the University of Houston Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, where she was a graduate of the inaugural class.

As a trusted voice in the anti-trafficking and survivor care space, Ludmila contributes invaluable expertise to Digital Defenders United’s mission. Her leadership helps ensure our communications, law enforcement support, and survivor outreach efforts remain trauma-informed, culturally competent, and effective for the communities we serve.
